How did you start working at Catawba Heights?
I'm Sarah, one of the registered veterinary technicians here. I graduated in 2021 with my veterinary medical technology degree and started my work-based learning here with Dr. Walls. I just never left!
What does being Fear Free Certified mean?
Being Fear Free Certified means we create a low-stress environment for pets. Some pets don’t want to be away from their owners, and we adapt to what makes them comfortable. You’ll often find us crawling under tables or climbing onto benches to make sure each pet feels safe and secure. Every pet is different, and we adjust to their needs.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
My favorite part of the job is the relationships I build with clients. I love getting to know everyone’s names and all the pets in their household. It creates a strong, meaningful connection.
What do you do in your free time?
I spend a lot of time with my husband and our animals. We have a Doberman named Duke, a German Shepherd named Sophie, a rabbit, and nine chickens. I love doing anything and everything with them.
Why do you love working at Catawba Heights?
I love working here because of the people. It’s a great job, and I enjoy coming to work every day. When you love what you do and enjoy being around your coworkers, you know you have the right job. That’s what makes working at Catawba Heights so special to me.
